    Hairy Woodpecker?

    Hello, I am new to this site. I live in Northern New York and am a lover of birds. This bird was spotted in the Adirondack Mountains. (New York) It has been here at my house every day for 2 weeks. I have never seen a woodpecker with this coloring. Any ideas? Thanks!
