    Hi Dave, Yep, still a BLH, a very variable species. I have a similar colony nearby with an impressive range of colour and lip shapes. It isn't uncommon to find BLH where the lip is 'unfurled'.     Appreciate comments on this fragrant orchid - one of many on the limestone grassland of BM Quarry in Durham on 26th July. Personally I think it looks very densiflora but given the season and the habitat you would perhaps lean towards conopsea. But that lip is very wide and it has great shoulders!

    Waa, that Lindisfarne helleborine is further out than I thought!! Was that an exception or are they all like that? Might need to shoot up to Holy Island pretty quickly!

    Gloucestershire musk orchids perfect at the moment - if you're visiting I would recommend going in the evening for photography as the morning sun made things difficult!
