    Taken today. SW Idaho, NE of Mountain Home Idaho. Photo 1. I believe to be a Sharp-tailed Grouse Photo 2 & 3 I have no idea. The second bird in photos 2,3 was a couple miles away from the first one.

    I think it's a Nashville Warbler, White eye-ring, yellow under tail coverts, yellow throat and gray hood. Thanks for the help as always. Dan

    Looking through my Sibley's Guide, I think this is a Lincoln's Sparrow. It was with a group of Song Sparrow's.

    Raptor ID, Idaho, USA: Possible Merlin

    The cedar planks are 6" wide. This raptor has been hunting in our backyard. This was taken on 2/8. I felt like the tail with the white tips and the one wide dark band matched what I saw in the Sibley field guide for the Merlin.

    I watched this Juvenile Hawk land in our tree today here in Boise. I'm leaning toward a Juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk. Coarse streaking on breast and from what I can tell, square tail. What do you all think?
