Seemingly having the same spec as the Sony RX100 I'm a little confused as to why the Canon G7X doesn't appear among the dying breed of digiscoping compacts. Is this camera totally unsuitable for digiscoping?

Had two SX50s First developed a fault after 4 months and was returned. Second one was faulty straight out of the box so I gave in and bought the Fuji Finepix S1, which in my experience has proven to be a better camera with the addition that it is water and dust proof.

Disappointing that they've chosen to supply just the Iphone/Ipad. I suspect it will be too small for the Iphone's tiny screen and doubt that Ipad users will venture out into the field with their overpriced tablets - even if they've enough...
We had Red-necked Nightjars here at the beginning of June over the road at dusk.

So are you basing your decision not to see this bird because of what you have read in books and on a series of over/under exposed photos - bizarre? Surely the best way to learn about any bird is to experience it in the flesh?
