Hi All.
I have tried various sources on t'internet and cannot identify this bird, please could you help?
Slightly smaller than a Canada Goose but larger than a duck, I saw it on Hawley Lake (Map ref SU840579) today. It landed like a swan.

Very odd. The wing feathers, the odd & very loud hooping call, the odd soar and fast swoop flight pattern.
I saw it last week and it was being harried by a bird of prey (Kite I think). This week it was just flying.
It seemed to be ground based, in a field near Uffington, Oxon.

Saw a Grey Wagtail near Horsebridge yesterday. A first for me, I was quite chuffed. (SU339313 is the map reference).
