Two images of same bird seen at Gyles Quay on Cooley peninsula early last June, dark longish bill and dark legs tell me Rock Pipit a.petrosus but not sure as book images are confusing!
Photo is from east coast of Ireland in June... My books are not great for gulls would point to two different cy great black-backed. Can you confirm or identify please.
Thanks
Meadow Pipit were about today and thought this was one at first but don't think it is now. Looks a bit gapey still to me too but light was not good.
Thanks for any help.
Amongst the singing robins and chiffchaff this morning, I heard this - always repeated 3 times - pichew pichew pichew. Did not get a sight of the bird but it was static so I have ruled out chaffinch flight call.
I had this as post nesting female Stonechat based on the worn state of the tail but overall it looks wrong. So is it a recently fledged bird that has had a bad time in the nest?
