    Killer Wasp

Thanks guys I just wondered how come I had never seen anything like this before? It is very hard to miss.

    Killer Wasp

Okay the header was just to grab your attention but the wasp in the image below was the only other visible occupant of the tower hide at Strumpshaw last week and it looked like it meant business. I have tried to look it up on-line but with no success so I thought I would turn to the guys on here...

    Norfolk Warbler

These two pictures were taken at Strumpshaw Fen on 06/08. I know its a warbler of some description but I just can't pin it down as the wings seem to be stubby and there is not much of an eye stripe. Any help is much appreciated and some I.D. indicators would be useful if you have time as I am...

    Sorry! Boring goose

I know its only a boring goose and I really should be able to identify it but I failed miserably. Seen at Whitlingham, Norfolk. Thanks in advance

    Norfolk coastal bird

I know its a long shot as this is a very poor record image but I was wondering if anyone could positively ID this bird for me. I have looked in the books and I think it is a common gull but the shape just seems a bit off, a bit like my ID skills, any help is much appreciated. Happy New Year to...

    Norfolk birding

Last report I saw was Wednesday. Small flock in bowthorpe fly past so no more details. The ones in golden triangle seem to have moved on although still berries on rupert street/York street so maybe worth a look.

    Best i-Pad

The I-Pad can do most things a laptop can do if you have the right Apps. My wife and daughter both have I-Pads and laptops and the laptops are rarely switched on. If you actually take the time and research it you will find it is much quicker and easier, assuming you have a windows laptop, to use...

    Norfolk birding

If you are on twitter follow @waxwingsuk they have records from all over the country. There have been several sightings of birds feeding at the junction of York street and Rupert street just off Unthank road. If you walk along Rupert street there are a lot of berries so I think they will hang...

    Norfolk birding

I thought I saw two there today as well but convinced myself I was seeing things. Got some great shots of the bearded tits from fen hide though and two nice field fares as well.

    Laser Printers for Photos?

The shop owner should be shot. Even if you pay a fortune for a laser printer it still won't produce the quality of a good Epson or Canon photo printer. Laser printers are designed for speed and bulk they make sense in a business environment but not at home unless you just want a document printer.

    Best i-Pad

I-Pad Get the i-pad. I can't give you a rational reason but it just works far better than anything else I have tried. When you pick it up it is like an old friend you just slip straight into comfort mode. Yes there are some gripes especially flash player but if anyone has seen some of the...

    Need help again in Norfolk

Thanks very much I did look at Cetti's and I had heard the familiar call earlier but I couldn't believe I'd got such a close-up shot of one.

    Need help again in Norfolk

Sorry to hassle you chaps (and chapesses) again but I took these pics yesterday at Strumpshaw Fen. At first I thought it was a wren from the posture and skulkiness (is that a word?) but when I got a clear shot it turned out to be a warbler. I have looked through the books and it looks like a...

    Norfolk birding

It looks like a tickwith the head end at the top but I'm no expert I'm sure someone on here will know they usually do.

    Pest from Norfolk again

Thanks once again. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused but the way you guys put things together and come up with possibilities really is excellent. I take my hat off to you.

    Pest from Norfolk again

Sorry to trouble you chaps again but I can't find this duck anywhere. Its either an extremely inter-bred Mallard or an escapee. It was in a river (or large stream really), on the way to Cromer, near a wooded area. I know its useless for my list but its really bugging me that I can't see it...

    Norfolk birding

Thanks, I'm Useless on trees I'm afraid. I didn't even realise I had got the shot until later when I reviewed the images. It was one of those speculative shots up through the trees as we were leaving Strumpshaw.

Thanks I hadn't even looked at grebe, Doh, as there weren't any around.

    Pest from Norfolk again

Sorry to trouble you chaps again but I took this yesterday at Titchwell and don't have the conviction to tag it juvenile Coot without checking. It was all on its own but there were several coot on the same pond.

    Norfolk birding

I took this image a couple of weeks ago looking almost vertically up into a large conifer just past reception.

    Norfolk birding

I have just returned from Strumpshaw Fen and the first thing I noticed was a nuthatch on the feeder and then a flock of Jays pass over. I think the birds must have been reading this forum over the past week and thought they may as well join in. It was a good day, btw, Bittern and Osprey being...
