    do swifts nest this time of year? because i have nesting birds in the loft from may to about july/august. wondered what they were.

    i found a baby bird once, about 6-7 years ago. not sure just quite how young it was. i found it early october by the house. one of the neighbours said it was a swallow though i wouldent know. it couldent fly and the neighbour wanted to kill it off. i wasent letting this happen anyway i kept it...

    good point that- interesting, seems split somewhat. years ago i would have released it but tend to think things through more nowadays. if someone feels strongly about the birds situation i can understand them releasing it allthough not condoning it.

    only a beginner- had birds in loft for last 9 years( ever since ive lived here) they nest from may to jully/august i think. went up there one year and saw they had layed eggs. since though i avoid going in the loft during this period of nesting. anyway what birds would they be.- thanks -Wayne.

    ok im new and not very knowledgable- out with the dog yesterday in the countryside and i saw what i thought to be a magpie in a cage. it dident seem like it was trap like cage, just that it had been put there. i almost let it out but wasent sure what the right thing to do would be.- any advice/...
