    Rainton Meadows 7 Tundra Bean Geese (6 ad and a Juv), 6 European White-fronted Geese and a Pink-foot flew in with Greylags at 8:45 this morning and were still on the main lake at 10:05 at least.

    Rainton Meadows (lunchtime) - 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Tern, 8 Stock Doves and at least 162 Lapwings.

    Quite quiet at Rainton Meadows tonight, although cuckoo flew over no2 flycatching. Also curlew, Gropper and grey partridge heard. Stoat or weasel ran across the road at Durham turf and a black-tailed skimmer on the hide.

    Hard to tell to be honest - without the tail. Think it could be a redstart due to the lack of barring on the belly but never seen a juv redstart so can't be sure ;)

    Two visits to Rainton Meadows (last night and this morning) produced the same outcome as JBee and Ray - its very quite at the moment. Although did see the Cuckoo between 2 and 3 last night. At least two Groppers still reeling, 4 LRP's, 2 Shelduck and 2 Stock Doves - along with the usual species...

    Rainton Meadows quite quiet this morning with only a drake Shoveler of any note. No sign of Ringed Plover. I also had a hunting LEO last night at 8:45pm.

    Hi Neil, quality mix of waders in that mate - after a quick look I can pick out the following (possibly more in there):- Greater and Lesser Sandplover, Curlew, Sharp-tailed and Broad-billed Sandpipers and Red-necked Stints. Will check back to see if anyones found owt else. Cheers

    Quick visit to Rainton Meadows at dinner didn't produce anything new. Looks like the Stints have all departed now (McKivitt didn't see any this morning either on his fleeting visit) but did have Ringed Plover, Redshank, 2 LRP's, 2 Oystercatchers and a Curlew.

    1 Temmincks Stint Still at Rainton Meadows at 7:30 in localised hurricane conditions!!! The other could still be there be everything was sheltering from the wind. Ring Plover still there too but no sign of Shoveler (but again could just be sheltering).

    Cheers Dab-chick - and that includes 20 species of Wader!!!! As for the Weasel on steroids - that thing would eat any Beaver (does that sound wrong to anyone??)!!! :t:
