    2017 UK orchids

    I was up at Sandscale last week. As of last Wed am, the wardens had found only 21 coralroot spikes this year. So a pretty poor year. Of those, I saw just three. They were doing more surveying that afternoon, so they may now have found more. But probably not many more.

    Nice morning at Noar Hill yesterday. Lots of Musks plus Frog Orchid, yellow variant Fly Orchid (going over though now) and white form Fragrant. Thanks for the gen Chris.

    UK dragonflies and damselflies, 2013

    Yep, had one male Southern Migrant Hawker at Wat Tyler today between about 1500-1530. In same area as the one Andy describes, but not quite so close and flight views only. David
