New Opticron Aurora BGA VHD Binocular

The beautiful ergonomic (bomb proof) Leica 8x32 used to be my “go to” binocular for years until I discovered Opticron Imagic 8 & 10x42 BGA WP VHD which offer a better view and ergonomics in a similarly scaled package so the Aurora should be all over the Leica’s.

New Opticron Aurora BGA VHD Binocular

I have had the Imagic 8x42, 10x42 and Traveller 8x42 for 5yrs, they’re all still running buttery smooth and better than some of the gritty stiction I’ve experienced on alpha brands costing more than twice as much.

    Opticron 10x42 Binocular Advice

I recommend the Opticron Imagic 10x42 BGA VHD which is a steal right now at it’s currently discounted and discontinued price.

New Opticron Aurora BGA VHD Binocular

I spent some considerable hours toing and froing between the DBA VHD and Imagic BGA VHD, and ultimately settled on the Imagic. Whilst I was able to appreciate the quality aesthetics and refinements of the DBA VHD, the open bridge didn’t work for my slender, slightly larger than average hands. I...

New Opticron Aurora BGA VHD Binocular

I just chanced upon these beauties, I would be interested to know if anyone has tried them yet and would be willing to share their experiences or thoughts? We have been fortunate to take a look at Opticron's new flagship #binocular, the Aurora BGA VHD. Available next month in both 8x42 and...

What's the difference between these three binoculars?

I have the Countryman 8x32 and the Imagic 8x42. I lend my Countryman’s out to family and friends whilst I use the Imagic’s. They both impress, however, the Imagic’s are in a different league and comfortably represent the better deal.

    MM4 60 or 77 GA ED?

    Review: Opticron MM4 77 GA / ED 45 with Opticron SDL v2 18-54x Zoom & HDF T WW 20x

Thank you Chris, My car was written off a fortnight ago so despite the blessings I am in no position to carry out a side by side comparison. I have however decided too purchase the MM4 60 ED GA/45 with a long term view of acquiring MM4 77 ED GA/45 in due course. I cannot tell you how pleased I...

    Opticron HDF Eyepieces

Can anyone shed any light on the advantages of the new Opticron eyepieces? I don't doubt they are excellent as ever, they always were with my MM3 50 and currently are with my MM4 60. However, unlike so many of the the superb winners that Opticron continue to release there doesn't appear to be...

    Review: Opticron MM4 77 GA / ED 45 with Opticron SDL v2 18-54x Zoom & HDF T WW 20x

Thanks for your input Jonathan, an interesting observation and not one I was expecting. Apart from the all important view, what is your opinion on the size and weight of the MM4 77 ED GA compared to the MM4 60 ED GA? Would you consider it for a travel scope or do you think it's a bit too...

    MM4 60 or 77 GA ED?

Please could someone advise whether they consider the MM4 77 GA ED to be a viable travel scope and if you could only ever have one MM4 GA ED scope which one would it be? The reason why I ask is because I finally have the chance to purchase an MM4 60 GA ED at a very reasonable price, however, I...

Thank you for the insightful and informative review Troubadour. Please could you confirm whether you consider the MM4 77 GA ED to be a viable travel scope and if you could only ever have one MM4 GA ED scope which one would it be? The reason why I ask is because I finally have the chance to...

    Leica Tripod Review: Birdwatch magazine

I don't suppose you could help me with my dilemma? I also own a little Swaro and was previously set on the Gitzo G2180, however, after reading the review (see URL below) up against the Swaro FH101 I am somewhat undecided...

    Desert Island: 8.5x42 or 8x32?

Bright image, depth of field, exit pupil and a sense of humour may be flavour of the month, however, two out of three of you evidently prefer the 8.5x42 EL despite a wealth of information favouring and supporting the 8x32 EL: http://www.worldtwitch.com/optics.htm...

    Pentax Digiscoping.

Hi Pentaxians I've been rather preoccupied lately with the big 'HITCH' looming ever near so I thought I'd post my 1st ever digiscoping attempt. If the results are anything to go by, I've obviously got a cherry. Equipment: PF80EDA, SRB Adaptor and K10D. See for yourselves: Unfortunately, I'm...

Leica Trinovid can still compete with the latest and greatest

    I'll second that. I've owned a fair few pairs of binoculars in my time: 1st Leica Trinovid 8x42BN, 2nd Leica Duovid 8+12x42, 3rd Minox 8x32BL, 4th Swarovski 10x42EL, 5th Leica Trinovid 8x32BN, 6th Leica Trinovid 8x20BCA, 7th Leica Trinovid 8x42BN. I've tried numerous others, they've all had...

A finder scope for my 80mm

Gordon Bennett! South Fork, Rogers Cloth and now JSRamsbottom... Whatever next! Incidentally there's a footwear wholesaler down Kings Road in Chelsea called, RSoles and apparently 3 MP's on the electoral register called Hugh Anus! What is the world coming to? I was investigating red dot sights...
