    Tuscany in early August

Hello, I am planning to do some birding after attending a conference near Lucca at the beginning of the upcoming August. I know it is not the best season of the year, but still hope to see some breeding birds. I found a few potentially interesting places, including Bocca di Serchio, Oasi LIPU...

Best tripod head for attaching/detaching a camera from the scope

Thank you very much for your helpful insight. The Arcatech head (this one? Tripod Head for Long Lens - Acratech) also seems interesting. You do not mind not having a pan bar on the head though?

Best tripod head for attaching/detaching a camera from the scope

Thank you. They both seem to be very good. Is counterbalancing important for this type of heads? I am still wondering if anyone is using a gimbal for digiscoping and has thoughts on this combination.

I will continue to use my RRS TFC34 MK2 tripod. Although my current gimbal (weighs only 850g) gives a...

    Buying a scope from overseas

Thank you for the helpful information. I was able to get some responses from both European and North American Swaro, and was told that I would be able to send it in for a repair here in the United States, but the warranty is going to carry the European warranty rather than the US one since it...

    Buying a scope from overseas

Hello, I live in the United States and am shopping for a Swarovski scope (e.g., STX85). The pre-tax price at online shops in Europe (are they tax-exempt if we buy from countries like Germany or Sweden?) is lower than pre-tax price in the US, and I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on buying it...

Adaptors for Sony RX100M2 and Nikon Fieldscope II ED (20x)

I realize that the scope is Fieldscope ED (the initial version) and not version II. However, the condition is very good.

Hello, I am new to digiscoping and interested in using some old equipment. Could someone advise on how to connect Sony RX100M2 and Nikon Fieldscope II ED?
