    Hi Reini. This is one of the bird you saw. The pair successfully raised one young this summer (as last summer). The drawback is that nesting GND's keep almost all ducks away from their lakes!

    Thanks for the comments. As Nigel points out this is Umsambiro Barbet, which is sometimes considered to be a full species (Thrachyphonus usambiro) rather than a subspecies of D'Arnaud's Barbet (Thrachyphonus darnaudii usambiro).
