Help with a first time owl nesting box

I live just within the city limits of Atlanta and many years I hear Barred Owls and in some years I’ve been able to spot them. I decided to splurge and buy a barred owl box from Wild Birds Unlimited but I have a bunch of questions regarding how to properly mount it, placement, maintenance and...

Well-rounded pair of binoculars for wildlife/travel. Newbie here, help!

Quick update: I'm still feeling like the Vanguards are the ones for me. I just put them up to my eyes and bam, I'm focused and comfortable. I'm not having that same experience with the Sightronics. I also headed over to REI this weekend and bought the Nikon Trailblazers, just to further...

Well-rounded pair of binoculars for wildlife/travel. Newbie here, help!

They both came today, and here are my initial impressions, from a total newbie with binoculars. The Sightronics are lighter and smaller. They feel more in line with what I was looking for when it comes to portability. Even with their size, I still would love something even more pocket-friendly...

Well-rounded pair of binoculars for wildlife/travel. Newbie here, help!

Thanks! Well, I have Amazon Prime, both were in stock, and returns are so easy, so...ordered both the Sightron and Endeavor. I figure I should see for myself the real difference between 8x32 and 8x42, in addition to the size of each and how they feel to use. I'll keep one!

Well-rounded pair of binoculars for wildlife/travel. Newbie here, help!

I know, I'm all over the place here! Basically, we have a nice backyard with plenty of trees and a few feeders, and I'd like to be able to get a better glimpse of the birds! On top of that, we are going on our honeymoon in July to Costa Rica, and while we're there I'm sure we'll have some...

Well-rounded pair of binoculars for wildlife/travel. Newbie here, help!

Would the extra $50 be worth it to someone who is not really a bird watcher, generally? What I mean is, I don't know how often these will be used outside my backyard other than once or twice a year. Are the Vanguards worth the additional cost to a casual user?

Any reason I should've bought the Celestron 71400 TrailSeeker 8x32 instead?

    Sightron "Blue Sky" II 8x32

I just ordered these as my first pair of "real" binoculars, and I look forward to bringing them with me on my honeymoon to Costa Rica this summer. Quick question: will these hold up ok in Costa Rica, given how misty/rainy the conditions may be?

Heh, ordered them on amazon before you guys even answered, after I looked around the forums for a bit. Will these be ok in rain and mist in Costa Rica?
