Hi there Yesterday we went to the salt lake at Petrola, in Albacete (south eastern Spain) to see some different ducks. And I saw around ten young flamingos. There were no other flamingos, just those eight or ten white and grey ones. They flied around, and maybe it is normal, but I did not...

Raptors from Albacete in eastern Spain

Hi there. I´d need some help to find out what birds are this two. I am quite sure that the one standing on the top of the stones is a buzzard (buteo buteo), what we call ratonero común (common mouse eater), but the other one, the darker one, I don´t know if it is also a buzzard, or an eagle...

83x anyone? The new Nikon P900

Hi there! I bought one about two months ago. I am very happy with it. I usually take my other camera with me too, a basic sony alpha 230 with a 50-500 sigma lens (that is a heavy combination to walk in the mountains) it is very useful to take photos of great bustards, and the birding mode...

Hi there! Has anyone tried those binoculars, from the 100 or 500 series (10x32, 8x42....) They are sold at Decathlon, the french sport seller, they are quite affordable 80-90€, waterproof and the image quality seems very nice. Has anyone tried them in the field?

    Red partridge, a femme fatale?

I love the red partridge (alectoris rufa). There are many here, in Albacete (Spain) well not as many as there used to be, mainly because of the chemicals that WE, the people that work the land, use, I am very sorry for that. This bird is beautiful, its colours, its shape, the way it flies...it...

I live in a farm in Albacete (South eastern Spain) in a house n the middle of nowhere, surrounded by vineyards and wheat fields. There are many red partridges and there use to be some rabbits and foxes. I always tried to improve the rabbit population, although I knew that wouldn´t be good for...

New to birding here just south of Birmingham...

Hi there. I was in Rogersville, did my 10th grade at the LCHS, and could enjoy those same birds, the cardinals and hummingbirds. We don't have'em here. I miss Alabama. Here we use corn and wheat seeds to attract a bunch of birds, but what here is most important is to have quiet and clean...

You can find this kind of evil in almost every country. It is really sad, no matter if it is an eagle, a bee eater...there is no reason for such a crime.
