    Golden Plover vs. Sociable Lapwing

It's a golden plover. It was my stupid mistake when copying / translating the report from my colleagues. I have however corrected the comment now.

    Golden Plover vs. Sociable Lapwing

A quick update on this. Friends visited the flock and identified this gray plover Some very keen (and a lot more experienced birders) visited the place this morning and identified this golden plover at the location. We have to assume it's the same bird as the one I photographed. So no sociable...

    Golden Plover vs. Sociable Lapwing

It did fit well with the other lapwings - both in posture and did not look short legged - all the birds were in a grassy field. Was able to briefly observe via a scope - where again it looked like the other lapwings, but for the colors - and then I took the photos. Friends will try and check it...

    Golden Plover vs. Sociable Lapwing

Thank you! Not seen in flight unfortunately. Primary difference from golden plover is the plumage color ( no spots or scaly back visible, and uniform white underside, as well as a hint of black primaries ) and also the size / shape which was close to the lapwing. Still I have no experience with...

One option / theory is a golden plover / while another is sociable lapwing. Would greatly appreciate if someone with experience of both species can share an opinion (...

Falcon from Mar 2018 - Black Sea Coast

Hi, Thank you very much for your ideas. I had not thought of a hybrid. Also I did not notice falconers or other people around, but not impossible, I guess. Lanner is yet another interesting idea, but I am not sure if it's been recorded in the region - will check. Thank you!

Falcon from Mar 2018 - Black Sea Coast

Hello, I observed this falcon in the spring of 2018, on the Black Sea coast near Burgas in Bulgaria. Ever since I have not been certain if it's a saker or a juvenile peregrine. The saker does pass through the region on migration, yet the peregrine is a more common wintering species there...

White wagtail subspecies question - Northern Greece - Jan 2020

Thank you. Makes a lot of sense of course, but I do not have experience with the subspecies (or that much with the variation within the alba one), so thought it's best to ask. :)

White wagtail subspecies question - Northern Greece - Jan 2020

Hello, While on a trip near Thessaloniki, I came across this odd looking white wagtail. I had a look at the subspecies description and distribution and it somewhat resembles the dukhunesis subspecies (has it been observed in this area?). However it could also be a variation of the plumage...
