    Field guide for Yucatán?

Hello folks. I’m beginning to plan a trip to Yucatán next January and, having browsed this site, I ordered a second-hand copy of Howell/Webb. Someone did say somewhere that it’s a big book to lug around. Well, the book arrived today and I fear it’s much more ‘reference only’ than field guide. Do...

Caspian, Yellow Legged and Herring Gulls

Here in Ireland very little doubt that Caspian is going under-identified and thus remains a ‘mega’.

Stay-on case for an ancient Kowa?

Thanks Daniel. I couldn’t see the second picture but I’m pretty sure my scope is the first one. I shall look into the Opticron cases.

Stay-on case for an ancient Kowa?

I recently returned to birding after a family break that lasted 25 years. I have been using my old Kowa TS-601 (a 1989 purchase that cost £189 for the body and £47.50 for a 20x wide angle eyepiece). Back then, in my late 20s, I must have been relaxed about the possibility of dropping the scope...
