Tanzania, Lake Manyara - weaver, nightjar

Hi ekopa, it does look like this is a slender tailed nightjar to me. For the weaver it is closest to a female bob tailed weaver. It could also be a southern masked weaver (female) but Tanzania is a bit further north than their usual range.

Fascinating - until you mentioned this I thought curlews were purely coastal birds, i had no idea they were resident in uplands too. Footprint looks a good match as well - thanks.

    Derbyshire UK

Hi all, I was up on the moors in the peak district the other day and kept coming across oddly large bird footprints in the peat bogs. In my infinite wisdom I didn't photograph them but I've attatched a rough estimate of what they looked like. Saw grouse and pipits but the footprints were much...

Sorry for the long distance photos, but this bird flew off soon after as I was moving closer. Looks to have a dark back and lighter chest, and looks similar to some bird of prey species. My initial thought looking at it was cuckoo, but then I was swayed towards bird of prey. About a pigeon...

Stock Dove or something else? - Leicestershire

Hi all, I was out on the farm on my daily stroll and passing through a small copse when I heard this odd sound. The closest thing I can liken it too is a stock dove. Any other suggestions appreciated.

    Song ID help Leicestershire

The return of the world's worst wildlife cameraman - here though I managed to get a nice audio clip of its song. The long range photo may also offer some guidance and one thing I did notice was it had a relatively long tail. Any help is much appreciated.

Blackcap or something else? (Leicester UK)

Sorry about the poor quality images - from a long-range phone video out of my window. I think this is probably a blackcap as we do usually see them around me but it could also be willow or marsh tit? Any help confirming appreciated.

    Leicestershire UK bird ID

Swift ID - Istanbul / Turkey

Judging by it seemingly having bars on its underside and the colour of the wings I would say it is a pallid swift - seen in Turkey as a breeder during summer months and in spring on its migration to other areas of Mediterranean Europe
