    Binoculars in the window…

Just running up the stairs a couple days ago, I saw something I liked there. Upper: Viper 10x42 HD, Leitz 6x24, Leitz 6x24 (last version) Lower: Curio 7x21, Ultravid 7x42 HD+, Leitz 7x35 (last version), Viper 12x50 HD, Ultravid 10x32 HD+

What is a Zeiss B T* and how much difference does it have with the t*p* ?

Just trying to find out more about the differences between these confusing designations so I can understand which ones are worth owning or not. As near as I understand so far the latter designation is the most advanced, and I assume the t* has no phase correction, or is that mistaken?

Help with finding a quick release plate for my Bogen Manfrotto 3265 head.

I just bought a Manfrotto 3265 equipped tripod and got a great price, but realized a bit late that the mounting plate is missing. Can anyone here tell me which model number I need to search for so that I'll be able to use it when it arrives? Thanks for any and all help!

Best lens cleaning cloth - which one?

I've got several microfiber lens cleaning cloths and wondered if they're all the same, or if some are better than others? Is everyone here using whatever comes to hand or are you really selective about them?

    Binocular viewing day with friends...

Took most of my little selection out with a couple friends today and had a great time going through and trying them all. I'm actually glad there weren't more because it was tough spending time with each one as much as we might have liked to.

Just made a great discovery with my most recent Leica - Leitz 6x24 (Leitz content)

I had to take this picture, and will probably take a few more of these three while I've got the chance. The 6x24 and the 7x35 just showed up and I'm completely knocked out by the 6x24. Very hard for me to fathom people not wanting more binoculars like these. Leitz 6x24, 8x32b, 7x35b

    Lemaire Super Wide Angle 7x35

Being interested in all things 7x, this is something I just recently acquired; anyone else know this brand and how to loosen up the focuser, which at present only moves with the greatest of effort? Poor picture taking led to the 'France' on the front not being readable, so maybe I'll get a...

    8x20 Ultravid diopter adjustment problem

I'm getting ready to send my 8x20 BR in for repair and wondered if anyone else had ever seen this problem before. If I adjust the diopter it will often slip adjustment, even to the point that there isn't enough range in the knob to make them usable. Depending on which direction it needs to go...

Crested Ibis being reintroduced to the island of Sado

Thought this might be of interest to birding fans everywhere. Sado was famous for one of the richest gold mines in Japan's past and will now offer birders another reason to go there. You can get to Niigata by train, then take a boat ride out to the island, see the old mine, a mountain visibly...

Finally got to try a Habicht SL

Went and saw a friend this afternoon and got to look through his 10x40 Habicht SL and Zhumell 25x100 binoculars and the view through the Habicht in particular left me a bit confused. I've been really interested in them since seeing how they seem to have a fairly good following among members...

    Nothing but Leica here now...

Here's most of my present tool box, minus the 8x32 Ultravid HD+ that I lent to a friend. I suppose I'm a bit of an outlier, with pretty much just one brand, but I'm pretty happy with them. I do have one Pentax and one Zeiss monocular, but they'll be on their way before long, and I think I've...

Which one do you always have with you?

I've been on here a shorter time than most and had never expected to carry binoculars on a daily basis, but it's been probably a couple of months now that I've had my 8x20 Monovid in my pocket, and now for the last month or so, the 8x20 Ultravid as well. Now I'm simply curious, not so much to...

Is the older Trinovid 8x20 still a decent binocular?

I'm using the 8x20 Ultravid so much that it got me thinking of buying another pair to leave in the car, but also wondered if I could get by with one of the 'lesser' Trinovid models for that purpose. My assumption of course, is that everyone here has owned everything, and therefore has more...

Leica 8x20 Ultravid is a gem!

I'm really surprised at how tiny they are and how well they work in the dark, considering the small exit pupil. I'd always assumed they be at least a little bit more bulky and it took me a bit to get used to using them. These are probably the best covert binocular one could have and compared to...

Lightweight binocular for a chair ridden friend

My friend can't move around any more, but really enjoys watching the birds through the window and I'd like to get him some binoculars that won't tax his very weak grip and his viewing area is about 30' away. I was thinking that something with 6 or 7 power and at least 4mm exit pupil but with all...
