    P900 or P950?

Thinking of buying one of the above for birding. A used P900 would be the cheapest option, but would it be worth spending more on the P950? Thanks in advance, Sean

Agree. Call sounds like redpoll. Size often hard to judge if no familiar species nearby for comparison

Reccomendation on recorder to use with RØDE VideoMic Pro

I’ve just bought the Tascam DR-05 and am slowly getting to grips with it. But it’s a bit tricky knowing which settings to use for bird song. Just wondered if any experienced users of this device had any recommendations? Sean

Question: about a digiscoping equipment comparison test?

Yes, we desperately need this. Anyone buying an adapter for the first time has very little info on which to base their decision

    Celestrron NEXYZ users?

I haven't bought the adapter yet, was hoping to get opinions first. Have you found an adapter that works well with your phone?

Better image from the Noctovid than the SF and SV x42s, Kimmo? I've only tried the Noctivid in very bright conditions so found it hard to assess. Sean

    Zeiss Conquest HD 10x32: opinions

Anyone have experience of using this bin? I'd be interested in how close their performance is to alpha models and how eye-friendly they are. Most reviews I've seen cover the 8x32s (I'm not interested in this format, have a couple already) Thanks in advance Sean

swarovski SV 10x42 or SV 12x50

I'd steer clear of the 12x unless you're absolutely sure you can hold them steady enough to benefit from the excellent view. I couldn't when I tried them, and I'm not that elderly. Also x42 is fine for the vast majority of situations. Their bigger siblings are not very popular in the UK

    Birdfair 2017 August 18th to August 20th

Indeed. I tried all the top end bins at the Birdfair and, as usual found it hard to separate them on image quality. But it is difficult to make an informed judgement on individual models without taking them away and using them for a couple of weeks. Again, the Zeiss SFs 'felt' best because of...

Swaro 1.7 extender in stock anywhere?

I used my extender on my ATX 95 yesterday to scan through fairly distant flocks of resting waders; 50x was fine for scanning. I was looking at a 'thin' horizontal line of birds so field of view wasn't important. Couldn't tell you what the focus range is as the birds were quite tightly packed...
