    I came across this spectacular insect today, 17.05.23, in inland Málaga. From a bit of googling it looks like the wasp Megascolia bidens but I'm not sure if there are any confusion species. 30mm or more. Thanks

    I came across 14 Dyroderes umbraculatus (White-shouldered Shieldbug) at Skidmore (Hants) near me today (10.05.23) An insect with an odd UK distribution. The only other place I've seen it is in southern Spain.
