    Hi Ian I found one in the garden on the grass in the morning and thought I had lost it. But I put it near water very gently and eventually she revived, flew up onto a tree and stayed there until the evening. I was worried about her as it was hot but she eventually flew off. From that time on...

    The nearest I can get is a crimson sunbird but there seems to be some subtle differences to the pictures in my books that I have.......

    @ Volker, a brief encounter as it came and went almost immediately. It was not until I looked at the photo that I realised it was different.... @ ragoorao, thank you for your input. I thought that it more likely to be a crow but could not find anything in my books showing a crow, or a Raven...

    Crow/Raven. I got just one shot of this bird next to the Black-winged Kite momentarily. An unusually hooked bill for a Crow...or is it a raven...????
