You should send him a PM, it will alert him by email, just in case he does not log on here any longer. Jerry

    Wondering about Ultravids, esp. 12x50...

The Meopta Meostar 12x50 is also very good, I would include that in your choices. Jerry

Zeiss SFL 8x40 Eyecup Stray light issue!

Do you wear glasses ? Often this could do with having the IPD (interpupillary distance) at the right point, or it could be having the eyecups, in or out to the proper position for your eyes. Good luck, have some patience and try to get the optic to fit you. Jerry

    Leica Bins

Leica does it very well with boutique optics, the quality, fit and finish are the best. I would go ahead and enjoy. Jerry

Upgrade from Nikon 8x30 EII to Zeiss Victory 7x42 FL?

I think you have a good idea, both are very good binoculars, and so keep both if you can. Jerry

Poll: will you buy Swarovski AX Visio?

You seem indecisive. Not sure anyone can help you with that. Jerry

    Stay on Case?

Those cases came standard with a new scope. Most do not see any use, they are a PITA, if you know what that means. Cumbersome. I hope that helps. Jerry

    Habicht with sticky rubber

Do not remove it yourself, the Swarovski service dept. in Rhode Island is very good. Send it to them and they will fix it. Go to their website for instructions. Good luck, very odd to see this happened. Jerry

Peter: Have you been naughty or nice ? :) Merry Christmas to everyone on here. Jerry

Zeiss victory pocket 8x25: occasional very strong flat green veiling?

I do think it is hard to tell, if just making a declaration of one observation up into some green tree branches. So, that means not sure why you even posted such, and you are color blind, even makes it more hilarious........ Jerry

Field Review of my (four) binoculars and my gear setup

Dorubird, your photography and story are very well done. It has been a pleasure to read the posts. Keep up the good work. You should know you could write for a magazine, and do articles there. Jerry

Zeiss Terra 8x25 Chinese production - holding up?

I have a MIJ Terra 8x25, and they were well known for having a loose hinge. I sent it in, and it was fixed or replaced, I don't recall. So I think in this case, the MIC thing is not much of an issue. I agree it is a very good value in the 8x25 size. Jerry

Leica Ultravid 8x20 dissection (The beauty)

Dorubird: Dissection. That means you take it apart and show the details and the parts. Is that forthcoming ? Jerry

    Product Review: GPO Passion 8 x 56.

Steve: I suppose you should know you need to center the camera into the ocular before showing us your photo. Your eye looks into the middle of the ocular, and that false pupil you show is not visible when properly shown. What you show is not accurate. You should spend some time on the binocular...

I'm not sure about how many lenses, have you a diagram ? It is an interesting topic. Jerry

How are waterproof porro Binoculars possible?

Minox has had waterproof, internal focusing binoculars for many years. Also Steiner makes waterproof, internal focusing. This would not affect brightness at all, just a design preference.

    Nikon strap

This seems like something that was posted some years back. California was on a rampage, and Swarovski had to put a sticker on the binocular box, that stated the product might cause cancer. A cancer warning..............I call BS, on all of it. Jerry

    Lee Thickett (Troubador) - R.I.P.

This is sad news, and I also miss him. He was a great writer and will be missed. I can just imagine seeing him crawling on the rocks, getting a look at the otters and sea birds........ He seemed to have a rebound a few months ago, and did post a new thread on Aug. 23rd, well done. You can find...
