    Thanks for sharing, Beverly. Great bird. I've seen them in action before and they ARE fast. Up to 200mph on a dive. They have been on the increase gradually, here. I'll bookmark this.

    I read somewhere that the male will bring a reed of grass or something, into the nestbox. If the female brings it out and drops it, she doesn't accept the home. Otherwise she builds her nest.

    Tammie, nice photo. We get them during an "eruptive" year. The Pine, the Evening and both Crossbils. This is definitely not the year. No reports in Connecticut at all.
