Next month's Birdwatching on sale date.

I can't find the next month's advert and date it's on sale in February's edition, or is it just me?

Great white Egrets spotted on my local patch.

I have a thing about trying to take pictures of anything flying and here's the best from hundreds of tries this week. The elusive heron will hopefully be in my sights again.

Great white Egrets spotted on my local patch.

Thanks Richard D I'll pay more attention to the details instead of assumption. Iv got a nice two mileish river walk literally round the corner, and snipe pond which I walk to on the weekend too. Iv only been able to do it starting last week so I'm still exploring, and it's surprising how...

Great white Egrets spotted on my local patch.

Ah thanks for that, I'm not good at identifying and took the size of it as what it was. I'll try and get more pics as it seems they've been there before.

Great white Egrets spotted on my local patch.

Hi guys On my patch that I walk most mornings I came across a pair of these, I was actually looking for the local Grey Heron that lives there, which funnily enough wasn't anywhere to be seen. As you might guess I'm still buzzing. I'll try and post pics when I get them off my camera, but these...

which should be considered for head and plate with Kowa 883 for digiscoping

I have that head for my scope and have taken the screw from my small ball head plate, and used it on the large slide plate that was with the Mah 500ah. So I have two screws holding the scope on, which cancels any worry of rotation. It can be from any plate as the screw is the same thread...

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

Hi guys Iv not been out with them properly yet, but tried them out in the garden last night. And I have to say the tripod and head are great to use. Rock steady on views at full zoom, and only takes a second to settle if knocked. Not the lightest of Set ups, but definitely the steadiest and...

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

What can I say, the scope is as good as I expected and I'm very happy with them. Now I was using a budget tripod and a ball head which isn't ideal, so I decided to get a new pan and tilt head and legs. Taking note from reading on here I knew I shouldn't skimp on this to get the best from my...

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

Views were bright and sharp at the river, in fact I'm that happy with the binos I'v got an Endurance 20-60x68 ED hawke spotting scope coming tomorrow. Iv wanted a good spotting scope for as long as I can remember, and I'd like to try digi scoping too. So I'm looking forward to this arriving...

    Snipe pond Darlington,

Could you guys help identify this please, I was thinking Goshawk but I'm not sure.

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

Iv just tried the adapter I have to put them on a monopod, but have found the depth of the screw threads is very shallow and the adapter I have is too long in the screw and can't tighten up. Any ideas guys?

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

Good news, after sending them back for inspection they arranged with a courier, they sent me an email saying they were indeed out of collimation and scratched on the mount screw. Two days later they sent me a new replacement which I'v checked with the stars and planets tonight. Jupiter and its...

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

To top it off, I thought I'd try to mount them onto my tripod to make doubly sure so removed the screw thread cover in the middle only to find it scratched. This had me feeling like I felt the last time I was sent something that had been sent back by someone then resent back out as new to me...

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

Unfortunately while trying to look up at stars tonight a flaw has shown itself. I was getting a double vision of a star showing above and no matter what I tried with focus it wouldn't go, sometimes it did though. But after a few minutes of this I felt slightly sickly and dizzy. I tried my...

    Aycliffe Wetlands

Only a small pond with viewing platforms, anymore than two or three and it would be crowded. My friend and I decided to have a look as he is into dragon flies and was hoping to see some. I went along hoping for birds and we both weren't disappointed. At first it seems dead of all life, but my...

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

I think you could be right, we'll have to see, but the great warranty with Hawke will replace them I'm sure.

    My new 10x50 Endurance binoculars.

Hi guys I recieved these today from Hawke online, as I thought with my 15 year old 8x42 Bushnell nature views I just fancied a new pair. Now don't get me wrong, my Bushnell are still performing great, I just wanted a new pair. The first surprise was the Endurance binos are slightly shorter...

Both sound great books, but there seems so many. I wonder what the favourite of everyones here is. Seeing the most popular will help me decide as there's so many out there

    Collins British Bird Guide?

Thanks for the replies guys. Hi Delia I do like a nice book to browse, though I had thought about an app too but it doesn't have the same feel for me as a book . But I will have a look at the apps you guys have suggested. Thanks all.

    Collins British Bird Guide?

Thanks mono that's disappointing, I was looking forward to that one. Are there any good replacements for it with nice paintings instead of photos?

    Collins British Bird Guide?

Hi guys, Its been a while since i was on here due to life, work and things. But Iv been trying to find this book which i thought came out a year or two ago? Being British Birds only would be ideal for me as the Collins Bird Guide I have now, which is the first edition from 1999, has a lot more...
