    Locations are a bit confusing as Roatan is in Honduras, not Belize. Are the two photos from Roatan and Panama respectively, or Roatan and Belize? That could impact the ID of the howler monkey James

    But those people pronouncing it are American. The point is that all of those pronunciations are “wrong” in the sense that they aren’t actually how that name would originally have been pronounced in Denmark or Norway or Sweden. So why arbitrarily decide that one new way is right and one way...

    Proper Danish pronunciation of that name is given here; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasmussen First syllable apparently rhymes with southern English arse i.e long a, no r sound Pronouncing it like either razzle or wrasse is wrong I very much doubt many British people get it right. James

    Pigeon and firecrest both fairly easy in the gardens, I don’t remember if we saw chaffinch there but we definitely saw them at ribeiro frio James

    I’ve done the night tour, it was a good experience, I think your chances of seeing anything resembling a petrel are slim but you should hear them, if you’re lucky you might get Madeiran barn owl on the way back James
