4 Hobby near Lyng yesterday afternoon but numbers of other summer visitors seemed on the low side still i.e. only a couple of Sedge Warblers but no Whitethroats or Reed Warblers. -

With all the skua experts on this thread I'm sure you'll get plenty of answers soon ;) Darker birds are always difficult but I would echo some of the positives in the id Q&A thread - beak is promising, as are the shafts restricted to p1 and p2, the tail projections are quite long and look blunt... -

Agreed. I remember a Blue and Gold Macaw doing exactly the same over my house when I lived in Potter Heigham. Hearing the bird from indoors, it was quite a magnificent sight watching it flying round and round. Watching the owner climbing a tree to get it back was rather amusing too! -

Went to Winterton North Dunes today (mainly to look for Southern Emerald Damselflies) but managed about 8 Redstarts, 3 Pied Flycatchers, 4 Spotted Flycathers and at least 10 Whinchats. Unfortunately, there was no sign of the 2 Wrynecks seen earlier in the hour or so I looked for them. Photos... -

Not disagreeing. If it had been confirmed as an Ortolan Bunting and still there next day I would probably have gone after work (even though I too have seen a few and don't "need" it for Norfolk). However, if it was confirmed as a Grey-necked, I'd have got up early and gone before work... -

Couldn't quite match Jim's tally but 15 Waxwings were in the school car park again this evening at about 4.50pm. Given 2 weeks have passed. I wonder if this is part of the same flock...?
