He must wanted to say that the AFOV remained the same down to 23x... ;)

    New scope from Zeiss...

Just had a look at the accessories page and, although with some new items, it doesn't mention any astro adapter. That and the lack of straight versions makes these uninteresting to me... I'm very happy with my X95 + extender (30 to 122x, wide AFOVs, pin-sharp images and no eye-relief problems...

    New scope from Zeiss...

Did the same and it persists... Now no dates for other accessories...:-C Did a quick web search and didn't found the model available anywhere. Some sites mention end January / early February...

astro eyepieces usable? Just had a look on Harpia info at Zeiss web-site and still no news about other accessories (expected to October...), so we still don't know for sure if astro eyepieces can be used... |:S|

So someone at Zeiss isn't doing is work right... A bad unit isn't admissible at a bird fare.

    New scope from Zeiss...

It doesn't make much sense using a not good unit as a demo in a bird fair. Would it be due to the dual-speed focus that didn't allow you to reach a perfect focus?

As you are continuing to torture us with your lack of additional writing... ;), I remembered to verify what ep would result on the magnifications you want. For high eye-relief with >70º AFOV there is the TV Delos 6 (29-87x, 72º) and the Baader Morpheus 6.5 (27-80x, 76º). That assuming that astro...

    New scope from Zeiss...

Hi Kimmo, Should be an error since they list also the Diascope eps for the Harpia (Zooms included). Even on the Gavia they list the zooms of the Diascope... If the astro eps will reach focus, the Baader Morpheus are good options for eye-glass users since have good quality image and are 76º...

    New scope from Zeiss...

Thanks Lee. I'm not also a fanatic of edge sharpness - I prefer an AFOV of 72º, with the out 12º not perfectly sharp, to an AFOV of 60º with the edge totally sharp, but it seems shouldn't be bad. However edge sharpness is very important for digiscopy as well as the aperture issue - the Swaro X...

    New scope from Zeiss...

Ok, but you looked at the edges of the FOV at low mags and when zooming? When zooming, you noticed changes on eye-relief? Did you compared the brightness/contrast with other scope? ... ;)

    New scope from Zeiss...

I hope not and I hope Zeiss will provide an adapter for 1.25" astro eps, as with the Gavia...:t: I also hope that the quality control will be better than with the Diascopes, so less lemons, since the low mags are obtained with a very fast optic. Technically is very interesting (since allows the...

    New scope from Zeiss...

It would not be the first since I have it already...3:-) I even tried my combo with the Leica Zoom...;) It would be fun to use the Diascope 3.75x zoom on the new models (resulting on a 11.25x zoom equivalent...), but as told on my last post it probably will vignette at lower mags... You can...

    New scope from Zeiss...

Just noticed that the eyepiece is 7.48mm https://www.zeiss.com/sports-optics/en_us/nature/spotting-scopes/victory-harpia.html#technical-data so the Docter will produce lower mags and might vignette. Higher power alternatives can easily be 1.25" astro eps (if these reach focus...), and you can...

    New scope from Zeiss...

Another link since the one already mentioned isn't working https://www.zeiss.com/sports-optics/en_us/nature/spotting-scopes/victory-harpia.html#features ... Unfortunately it seems that there is no straight view versions :C... My astro combo concept that Joachim mentioned...

    New scope from Zeiss...

Zeiss most probably will include all info on their site also on Friday... It's a good new to Zeiss fans. I find the eyepiece too short to be wide angled (compared to Kowa and Leica eps length), so the second ring can be a zooming ring in order to achieve wider AFOVs? Nice to see that competition...
