Very busy at the bird feeder today!

Got a 20kg bag of sunflower hearts arriving tomorrow. Another sure sign the birds will vanish for a while !

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

4 bullfinches making frequent visits today, plus the robin and coal tit stopping by to say hello as usual. It's been raining most of the afternoon which has probably deterred most other visitors.

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

Really quiet here all week. Robins, coal tit and a few chaffinches making daily appearances, occasional visits from bullfinch and goldfinch thrown into the mix.

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

The amount of heavy downpours we've had over the last few days hasn't stopped the birds from coming down, but the seed feeders keep clogging up due to it being so damp. Sunny today so we'll see if that helps things. Planning to put all the garden furniture back in place over the weekend, so...

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

Birds seem to have survived the overnight weather, coming down in the usual numbers which is good to see (y) Main issue is that the weather is still so foul the food will probably clog up in the feeders before they can clean up lol.

@Scozmos 16 chaffinches feeding this afternoon, not a single brambling amongst them. Raging !! 😂

Flurries of activity all morning here. Bullfinch, goldfinch, chaffinch, 4 robins and the coal tit back and forward constantly. Single great tit earlier as well, first visit in a while (y)

Male siskin is currently having a feed. First time I've seen either the male or female for a few months now.

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

Just watched a coal tit chase off a robin. Usually it's the robins who are the garden aggressors.

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

Carabiner clips that I hang the feeders from at the top of the cage were frozen solid this morning. Spent ages trying to open them, had a very impatient robin, bullfinch and blackbird up on the fence telling me to hurry up in no uncertain terms 😂 😂 Looks like I need to bring both the clips...

Happy New Year all ! :) 15 chaffinches at the feeders yesterday, along with bullfinches and goldfinches. This morning saw the first sparrowhawk visit of the year, unsuccessful raid by a female.

Blackbird finally used the ground cage this morning, money well spent !!

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

So far all the usual suspects are coming down, just not feeding as often which is to be expected until they decide it's safe to do so. Coal tit, blue tit and great tit. Greenfinch, goldfinch, bullfinch, chaffinch, robin and dunnock have all fed at some point during the week. Holes aren't big...

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present feeder setup version 73.4 :ROFLMAO: Purchased one of those cages you use for storing gas cylinders, with feeders attached to the roof with carabiner clips. Should probably have gotten the taller cage as getting to the feeders at the back is a bit of a...

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

For those of us with the snow and sub zero temperatures over the weekend, did you notice any difference in the number of visitors or frequency of visits ? I thought everything was much the same, although the goldfinches were flying overhead more rather than actually landing to feed.

3 inches of snow to wake up to this morning. Glad I bring the feeders inside every night !!

Only the first two that are being restricted. If the birds want to smoke and have naked flames then have at it 😂

Very busy at the bird feeder today!

Waiting on a cage similar to the one below being delivered, then I'll start putting feeders out again rather than ground trays in a rabbit run cage. The one I'm getting is 140H x 120D x 120W Mesh is 50mm x 50mm so fine for finches, tits etc but still be prohibitive to magpies and pigeons. See...
