New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

John Roberts post 788, Swaroclean is an optically indifferent coating, it is only meant to protect the lens surfaces and to prevent moisture adhering to the lens surface. In my opinion it is not worth mentioning, since it is not of vital importance for the function of the binoculars. My Hensoldt...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Rotherbirder, post 737, Binoculars used in DEET covered hands damage their rubber armor quicky. I assume that soap and brush is also used to clean the binocular armor to prevent DEET damage for example. It must be cheaper for Swarovski then the application (for free) of new rubber armor. Gijs...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Justin, post 711, I do not quite understand your comments with regard to the comparison between the Zeiss HT and the Swarovision EL 8,5x42. I wrote in that test report comparing these binoculars that you can see a difference in brightness and that is not so strange since the transmission...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

I have seen a lot of binoculars the past years and I am not blinded by eagerness for new introduced binoculars, but the NL's I have seen( the 10x42 and 12x42) were really very very good and I am personally very happy that Swarovski has introduced the head rest for improving stability and not a...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Chosun Juan, post 665, The image of the NL I could use for a very short time was sharp up to the rim of the field and you could see the end of the image as a sharp and over the image line it became image-less/dark. Hope that is clear. Gijs van Ginkel

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

For me the discussion about the field stop looks as kind of a linguistic problem here perhaps. I understand from it: can you see the rim of the image circle? Of course you can and I could see that but, as Jan already wrote, outside the image circle there is darkness-nothing-no image. Gijs van Ginkel

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Well, Temmie's remarks made me curious so I dived into the historical literature and came across many "open bridge"designs, but none with central focussing. To name a few models: Leitz Binom 8x (1911), Leitz Binocle 10x (1912), many producers made a model 08 approx 5x produced as a military...

Temmie, post 457 and post 460, In your post 460 you formulate a lot of statements without any solid example. Which historical models with open bridge by other binocular producers were in your opinion made before the EL? Gijs van Ginkel

Dalat, post 202, The instrument you describe in your post offers not 99,9% tranmsission but 100% as we measured the past december when Sint Nicolaas , the bishop of Myra, asked us to perform this experiment. Gijs van Ginkel

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Seldomperched, post 6, I hope that you will not share this message with anybody, but Swarovski succeeded in the production of wave shaped prisms, so light waves can pass them fully in phase. Gijs van Ginel
