    Malta and hunting policy

Andy, hunters report their catches through an SMS reporting system. This obviously doesn't work since very few hunters report their catches and therefore noone really has really any idea how many birds are killed. In the 2020/21 hunting season only 2.7% of 10,675 hunters reported any...

    Malta and hunting policy

Hi Peter, unfortunately you are unlikely so see much in August since it would still be early for migration, especially before mid-August. You can possibly see some waders and herons, while flocks of flamingos are usually also regular. Juvenile Audouin's gulls are also frequent in August. Local...

    Malta and hunting policy

Fatal flight is an out dated book. The church is not even close to being powerful and influential as it once was. The current archbishop has taken a very public stance against hunting anyway. In other news...

not meant as an insult but it's no secret they all support the same political party.

    Malta and hunting policy

I don't care what the hunting lobby says but there is no hiding the fact that hunters are a bunch of unethical, leftist, low-class c*nts.

    Malta and hunting policy

Very disappointed although I saw it coming. It really was very close. Things would have been different if the snobs who think they are above these affairs had voted. Overall the result shows how primitive and ignorant the majority Maltese population is. I really am ashamed to be living in the...

not surprised really. my gut feeling is that the hunters WILL win in some way or another.

what a bunch of bollocks. The referendum has nothing to do with illegalities but simply with sustainability.

    Malta and hunting policy

they've launched a website now, it's in Maltese though http://www.iva.org.mt/home.aspx I still find their choice of campaign image amusing in the way that it makes no sense in this context. No pictures of dead birds or men in camo carrying guns. It's like they're ashamed to show everyone who...

    Malta and hunting policy

I may be biased but the yes campaign is really crap. I have literally no idea why they are using a Maltese flag and their slogan doesn't make much sense either. AND for some reason they are using a 'generic happy family enjoying the countryside photo' in their posters which makes no real sense...

    Malta and hunting policy

the referendum is lost in my opinion. Both the prime minister and the leader of the opposition are in favour of retaining the spring hunting season so I predict that there will be a lot of corruption when it comes to counting the votes.

    Malta and hunting policy

If you have time to waste watch this farce of a documentary on spring hunting in Malta by the Italian channel caccia e pesca (hunting and fishing). Don't worry it translated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alWDcQ2VLBc&feature=youtu.be The funny part is that they call people who want to stop...

and our joker prime minister has announced how he will be voting for some reason...what a clown:C hopefully the majority will vote sensibly. This will actually be my first time voting and what an appropriate occasion :-O.

The government hasn't said anything yet re the attack. I'm hoping for the best. Off-topic but here is a webpage if you would like to contribute to birdlife malta to build a rehabilitation centre: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/back-to-the-sky

    Malta and hunting policy

Apparently some hunters have attacked birdwatchers at Buskett (Malta's best place for watching BoPs). I literally value the life of a fly over the life of these braindead savages. Hopefully the government will tackle this in an adequate manner (several arrests and fines and hopefully close...

    Malta and hunting policy

The troglodytes have taken to the streets. http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20140921/local/update-6-hunters-hurl-insults-and-beer-cans-in-valletta-protest-reporter-kicked.536660 I think the videos show clearly what primitive cavemen these people are.

    Malta and hunting policy

The government has kept their promise and closed the hunting season until the 10th October. Although I am happy with this decision, I suspect that this has something to do with the grilling of Karmenu Vella.

At least 2 marsh harriers reported shot down today. Obviously this is only the tip of the iceberg. I hope all these uneducated troglodytes drop dead.

    Malta and hunting policy

Sources said there are about 50 storks spending the night here. In theory they should be safe since the government said they will close the season if another one is killed. However we all know how bloodthirsty the hunters can be.
