    Another first for my little back garden, a Jay. One bedraggled looking Male eying up the feeders, didn't hang around though sadly. Also a first for us, a Swift nesting under the eves, first one in 18 years at this house.

    One more for the garden list, Swift. A pair just flew over, reasonably low heading SW. Still very few Martins or Swallows and those seem to be very high up.

    The garden had another visitor today. The daughter shouted, 'dad, what's this on the shed'? It was a Sparrow Hawk, just sat there bold as brass, hopped from the shed to the feeders then onto the back gate. The sparrows didn't even seem to notice he was there.

    Interesting spot for this morning, looked up to watch a buzzard being harassed by gulls and there's a raven flying over towards the South West. Probably coming from Worlds End.
