    wheatear on King George V Playing Fields on dirt mounds at 12.55pm on Sunday, 8th April.

    32 redwing in horse paddocks on swan pool side.

    saw 34 wigeon (looked like 17 pairs) on larger of duck ponds in Sandwell Valley. Also one pair of goosander on smaller duck pond. Also pair of goldeneye on Swan pool. All between 11 am and 12 noon.

    About 10.30am in Paddock field next to Skylark field by swan pool saw 4 spotted flycatcher (possibly more, but couldn't be sure as they were quite active flying from one perch to another) and also 1 male redstart. Also saw 1 great crested grebe with 3 young. Saw quite a few holly blue and...

    Two skylarks seen and heard over field by Swan Pool. Gulls were flying round - don't know if they were trying to find eggs/young and that is why the skylarks were so noticeable. Also the reed warbler was competing well in the singing stakes against the skylarks. This was at 9.30am today.

    Forge Mill Lake 2 great crested grebes displaying (head shaking and nodding). Could this mean that they may mate , or are they just pair bonding)?

    Great to know that a skylark has been heard. Haven't heard one yet this year, even though they used to nest on field next to Swan Pool.

    We watched it for a while from opposite bank to the hide and then at approx. 1510 hours it flew low towards the left, but couldn't see if it landed, but it was flying low.

    Forge Mill Lake sand martin, house martin, swallows, swift redpoll on RSPB feeder also think saw whimbrel (looked smaller than curlew) took photo but don't know how to attach to this message if anyone can advise how to do that would be much appreciated.

    saw 8 wheatear in field off Salters Lane just over the motorway bridge from Swan Pool. Couldn't find the Ring Ouzel, which is what went looking for. that was at 10.30 this morning.
