Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

Shall we call it a day then.... the OP is selling the very binos we are discussing, and nothing wrong with that, but it kinda draws it to a natural close. Also, to answer the original question, which was posted when Stonehenge was being built... it's because they are a simple optical design...

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

It's weird.... I went to specifically buy Habichts about 2 years ago. Against the Leica's and those FL's I bought, they were definately lacking something.... So I bought the FL's. They were too big, so sold, and I now have Meostars which work so well for me.... just fantastic... But I still...

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

You're talking to a Habicht fanboy here, but it's not particularly the brightness, just the overall impressive image.

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

I absolutely agree. Ultravids, and my Meoptas arern't as bright as some, but the view is lovely, warm and more saturated colours. This brightness thing is not the be all and end all. I can see things at dusk with my 'less bright' 10x42 Meoptas, just fine thanks!!

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of them, but never compared them directly with a Conquest 8x32 which is well known to be stellar.

Seriously, do you rate the Swaros that much..... interesting

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

For all their limitations, there is something very magical about those Habichts, even just holding them, before you actually look through them.

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

Those 8x56's are the best optics I've ever owned I think. They are big and heavy, too much so for my wife, and son. I shall probably regret selling mine one day, and should have kept them, but I'm not good owning something I don't use, cameras, lenses, binoculars, bikes..... whatever. I will...

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

I did test the Habicht whilst I had the Zeiss, but not side by side. Both very bright, superb optics, but that Habicht does surprise you with its view, whereas the FLs kinda do what you expect..... which is very good indeed.

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

I've spent a bit of time with this model, and I have to say, that 'FOR ME' I feel it's problems are exaggerated. It is very bright on a dull day, but when I tested it on a sunny day, I was pleasantly surprised that it was no where near as bad as I expected, having read so much negative press...

Why are those dang Habicht's so BRIGHT!

Very interesting. I guess these manufacturers know best, they've been doing optics for a while, and make their choices in design, and we then choose which way to go with our purchases. I was thinking that my new Meoptas aren't quite as bright as Zeiss, but on the other hand, the colours are way...

I think James was responding to the OP's thread title.....
