My Review of a 8x32 EL; 8x30 SLC NEU and a 8x30 CL (all brand new bino's)

Or maybe a song parody.... The Way We (Almost) Were Mmm. Mmm. Memories, in the prism facets of my mind Low chromatic aberration memories of the way we (almost) were Scattered hyperboles of my mini-EL didn't work out fine "Stretches" I kept on repeating about the way we (almost) were Can...

My Review of a 8x32 EL; 8x30 SLC NEU and a 8x30 CL (all brand new bino's)

Well, I guess we're giving the dead horse a few more kicks, just to make sure. The medical examiner apparently was not animal certified. :-) It would appear that Dennis has flip flopped, and being fickle when it comes to bins, that wouldn't surprise anyone, however, reading his posts more...

My Review of a 8x32 EL; 8x30 SLC NEU and a 8x30 CL (all brand new bino's)

Go backa and take another look and this time take out the extreme likes and extreme dislikes. Almost every review of the CL - except a couple including your initial review that characterized the CL as a mini-EL -- highlights good points and not so good points of the CL, I don't see a split down...

My Review of a 8x32 EL; 8x30 SLC NEU and a 8x30 CL (all brand new bino's)

Is the CL Thread Dead? I was about to post this parody title, but then I saw that Dennis is just in need of a recharge! :-) Sometimes Steve's terse one liners are precious! Glad to see Dennis took it in good humor. I wanted to address a point in one of Dennis' posts above and make some final...

My Review of a 8x32 EL; 8x30 SLC NEU and a 8x30 CL (all brand new bino's)

Actually, Dennis was the one who started the thread I think you are referring to about the 8x32 EL vs. 8x32 FL. One of Dennis' first BF posts, the moderator welcomed him to BF. Here are some choice comments from that thread about the baby EL's optics (everybody loved the ergos). "I tried the...

My Review of a 8x32 EL; 8x30 SLC NEU and a 8x30 CL (all brand new bino's)

Hermann -- Thank you for those wise observations instead of wisecracks like those from one of your fellow countrymen. While it's true that binoculars are a personal instrument (wish I had a dollar for every time I wrote that on bin forums), I have found over the years that if you read a bunch...

Unfortunately, that doesn't hold true if your focus accommodation is poor, particularly with higher power binoculars. I need to set and reset the diopter for different distances on most 8x midsized roofs and most 10x bins (the 10x42 SE is the sole exception, not sure why?). So with pull out...
