    The oculars on the 10X56 are smaller in diameter than the 8X56. The 10X56 are used quite a bit for the night sky along with the 8X56. Both handle distortion quite well near the field stop.

    42s all the time unless traveling and weight/conceal carry is an issue. 50s at night. For me weight of an 8/10X42 is no issue at all.

    Tried the Duovid once, it serves a purpose but no interest there for me.

    Yes they are large, and I can easily see the entire FOV with my curved concave shaped sunglasses.

    Enough talk of small EPs, break out the big guns with 23mm ER, so easy with sunglasses.

    If one is moving through terrain with close features with open areas to view, (much like where I live) I always carry the 12X50 with 8X32/42. Sometimes I just carry the 10X50.

    Magnification of the 10X42 is also an advantage over the 8X32 in low light conditions.

    How about the 8X56 at ~ 38. 10X50 at ~ 20, 10X56 at ~ 25. 7X42 at ~ 28.

    Perhaps to some they have closed the gap, but with regard to the SV 8X32 and 8.5X42, many still use the 8.5X42 since inception. I would think they will still sell plenty of NL in 8/10/12X42s also, so those formats are going no where. " Most birders" is an opinion, and generally some will...

    Slow down Dennis, slow down. Do not pump too much, sounds like an advertisement for a NL 10X32. I have tried many 10X32s except the SF, and meah....only if there were no other glass available.

    I have seen the transmission graph of the SF 8X32, I would surmise the 10X32 has a similar shape? It would not matter how nice the 10x32 is, the EP is too small for me. I wonder what the comparison of sales with 8X32 Vs 10X32 is.
