    Spot on! The auto focus on cameras is at the point where the exact on eye focus is standard for bird photographs, achieved in a fraction of a second. It makes it appear that the binocular community is caught in an early 20th century time warp.

    The zoom feature is easy to add, provided it is on only 1 optical train. So a zoom binocular would have a Harpia like front end with a Swaro BTX binoviewer attached. It does sacrifice the 3D effect of conventional 2 train binoculars, but that may be an acceptable tradeoff. I do not know whether...
