I have just seen LGRE's pics on Twitter, and the bird does seem to have a much larger bill than I remember and from other photos I have seen. They are however fairly bad quality and have a feeling the images are deliberately selected to prove his point. Still await some of the big lensvlads to...

There are two places to park at Grimley, one is at the north end of the Camp lane pits, before you enter Grimly village, with very obvious cutouts on both sides of the road about halfway along. I've seen 5 cars parked here with little trouble, even when the bus goes past. Alternatively, you can...

Both the 1st winter drake and female SMEW were showing at Grimley on the flooded middle section from near the 'Black barn'. Was great to watch them side by side to see the plumage differences! Stunning birds! 3 Goldeneye (2 female and one presumed juv) also on the flooded middle section and...

Yeah, i have noticed this 'problem' each time i have been to Grimley after the landscaping had taken place. Ive never been truily 'satisfied' with the footpath system around the north end of the site, particularly along the western shore and the 'Causeway'. Both of which could be vunerable to...

Despite it being a public footpath, would it not be better to avoid this track considering the amount of Wigeon/Teal that are feeding along that shore? Surely its in the interest of the bird(s) for us to just take the distant views rather than have the posibility to flush and disturb everything...

And here are the Pics of the 3 stars of the show, Smew, Grey Plover and Sanderling. All terrible pictures due to dire weather, distance, foggy, wet optics, oh and did i mention, the weather really was quite bad! Also, trust the day to turn out this good when i leave my SDHC card in my bridge...

It was an awesome time to be there this morning/Early afternoon, you couldnt stop scanning for fear of something else lurking amongst the masses. Grimley is now well and truily on the Worcs Map, and over the past couple of years putting itself as one of the best places in Worcester! Long may it...

I only know limited details, the two northen plots have been sold to a local resident, who has planning permission to built a small house on the fields to the right of the entrence gate. Looks like much is going to remain as it is at Grimley from what i hear so thats good news :t: MB

Jus back from a check of the Grimley area, and can confirm that the GREAT-WHITE EGRET was still present today, along with 3 Little Egret. At one point, i had all 4 egrets in the scope together. It was also very good for raptors, a 1st summer HOBBY (tinged brown tail and wing feathers) gave...
