    Another nice afternoon spent in the Wyre Forest today, saw my first Adders of the year which was fab & also saw a Common Lizard. Also heard my first Chiffchaff of the year and watched a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming a hole in a tree in preparation for a nest :)

    Dipper the highlight for me too near the Mill at Dowles Brook this afternoon. Also 4 x Mandarin, Treecreeper, Bullfinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Buzzard & more. Lovely weather and it was a very enjoyable walk :)

    Good report Joe :) I was down again on Friday evening and I had a Buzzard with what appeared to be a snake also - this was not far from the main path, I disturbed the Buzzard as I walked past (unwittingly) and it took off only a few feet away, a cracking sight. Other than that very quiet bird...

    Thank you Mary, plenty of hours spent looking, they are so good at sneaking off as you approach even when treading carefully, still it paid off eventually :)

    I went to Blackstone Farm Nature Reserve yesterday to photograph the Poppies before moving on to the Wyre Forest where I spent a couple of hours late afternoon, very few birds around although I was preoccupied with something else .... A cracking female Adder, very difficult to find but well...

    Spent a few hours at Dowles Brook yesterday, plenty of Willow/Wood Warblers around. Saw 2 x Tree Pipits in Town Coppice, whilst here I also had a Common Lizard. Looked for the Pied Flys at both Knowles Coppice and the Orchard near Lodge Hill Farm but with no luck :( Had a couple of Grey Wagtails...

    I visited Dowles Brook on Friday evening, a male Adder was seen before I had one Dipper down on the brook. Also seen were a Muntjac fleeing as I disturbed it near to Lodge Hill Farm, quite a few bank or field (not too sure which?) voles in the scrubby grassland adjacent to the old railway line...

    Spent a few hours at Dowles Brook earlier today, overall quiet with the highlights being 4 x Mandarin Duck (2m&2f) and a little earlier I had 2 x Treecreeper together.
