Agree with Denham's, doesn't have the bulk for Kori.

Which doesn't occur here anyway, and this beast has the typical rufous hind neck of Denham's.

Here's another photo... I was distracted by the lions, so I didn't get a great shot of the bird.

Anyways, I don't see a "rufous hind neck" here.

Neither do I, maybe a bit bleached out.

This should be the nominate race here I think or could it be jacksoni?

Here's a shot we took in South Africa of the race stanleyi.

Andy - I think there's a bit of a mix-up here. We are all (including you) agreeing that this is Denham's Bustard.

I think Sicklebill is referring to the part of the bird I have arrowed in this enlarged and lightened photo.

Ahhh! Thank you. I was thinking that he meant the back of the neck and not "just behind" the neck.

Browsing some images, this bird is at the paler end of the spectrum for the deepness and extent of the rufous colouration.
