Can only add whisper it Feral Pigeon, there have been the same 3 dropping into the flashes on several occasions.

Nothing to add to the year list this afternoon at both Moors & Flashes. Best at Moors were 37 Shoveler, 5 Pochard. 4-5 Snipe & an Oystercatcher. At Flashes only the roost worth mentioning - 1,700+ BHG including four darvic-ringed birds (see Twitter for details), 300+ LBBG & 25+ Herring all buzzed three times by a Peregrine. Also Oystercatcher, 106 Lapwing, 5 Shelduck & 10 Curlew.

Just to expand, Mike's four ringed BHGs were T81U (first seen last year and a couple of times previously this year), 2K44 (a regular returning bird but the first time it has been noted this year), 2A23 (bred at Upton last year) and a new bird with yellow ring and black code TLHU from the usual Polish ringing scheme which Mike is pursuing the details for.

Bad flooding at the Moors Pool this morning - Gert has adandoned the east hide with rising water levels. Worth having a gander at his Twitter account for pics of the current state of play

At least the Chiffchaff by the steps down from the Sailing Pool was using the flooding Henbrook to its advantage, successfully gleaning insects (presumably pushed up by rising floodwater) from twigs and stems just above water level for about half an hour around midday and joined in this activity by a pair of Goldcrests and a pair of Long-tailed Tits for a while

From a soggy Flashes this morning Gert reported:

2 Shelduck, 2 Oystercatcher, c200 Lapwing, 1000+ BH Gull, 10 Shoveler, good numbers of Teal, 8 Curlew close to hide, Rook over, House Sparrow in silver birches by Hen Brook

All the islands were under water
