Day One for digiscoping (1 Viewer)

Today I attached the DCA adapter to the Swaro 80mm HD, set the zoom to 20x and attached the Nikon D200 w/ a 50mm lens open to 1.8 and set at infinity and took pictures of birds at the feeder. It was afternoon and getting darker but I did get some keepers. Used ISO 400. This works but is a little back-end heavy!

Hi Jim and welcome to BirdFourm from all the staff.

I'm glad to hear that your set up worked out nicely, perhasp you could post some of your photos to show us how you got on.

Thanks
This is my first photo with this set up.

Jim,
You're on your way. Welcome to the rewarding, frustrating world of Digiscoping.
With birds at feeders you're going to need fast shutter speeds to freeze action. At least 1/500th second and 1/1000th or more would be preferable. Go for high iso to start and don't worry too much about the noise until you get comfortable with the sharpness of your shots.
Good luck, Neil.
