Spotted Sandpiper at Olhao (1 Viewer)

Just returned to the hotel from a quick walk around the lagoons on the south-west side of Olhao, just west of the Real Marina Hotel and saw a summer-plumaged Spotted Sandpiper. Bird was feeding on first lagoons along north side of path but then flew towards tidal zone and couldn't be relocated. A few Common Sandpipers also there but it wasn't associating with them.

Also 8 Curlew Sandpipers, 3 Little Stints amongst the commoner waders and 4 Slender-billed Gulls.

Hi Brian,

This bird was initially found by Georg Schreier on 12th March (still in winter plumage, but starting to moult) and has been regularly seen in the area since then. Good to know that it is still there. |=)|

Best regards,
Gonçalo
