Access to galleries (1 Viewer)

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post, if it isn't please forgive me and point me in the right direction.

Being comparatively new to the forum I am having (what I think is ) a problem accessing the galleries from links in posts.

I understand the need for having the galleries open to users only, but why on earth do I have to relog in if I click on a link somebody has included in their post.

I can be logged in and reading a thread, there is a link to an image so I click on it. A new tab opens (in Opera) and I am told I need to sign in.

Does this happen to everyone? If so why? If it doesn't is it something I can avoid and if so how?

I hpe this makes sense and thanks in advance for any advice. I have to admit I am beginning to find it a bit of a pain in the ............

Do you log out of Birdforum or clear all your cookies when you shut down? This may be the reason you have to log in again to the Gallery.

No this happens even when I am in the middle of reading threads bweing logged in. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Kentbloke for the suggestion. Sadly it hasn't worked I am logged in and I just tried to visit the gallery and up popped the message "you need to be registered to .... etc" I logged in again on that page and then I was allowed access.

Again thanks for the help.

Just an update. It is possible that it has cured things after all. I have just revisited the Galleries and for the first time wasn't asked to login. I will close down restart and see if this still holds true.

Further update. It does seem to have solved the problem. Thanks a lot.
