North America - London Ontario Canada... ID Common Nighthawk? (1 Viewer)

Hi all!
I am reluctant to call this and would appreciate your expertise... I sighted this bird two days ago (May 13, 2018) near the Thames River in east London (Canada). Unfortunately I was unable to hear it's call or view it in flight. Any help is appreciated. Online guides suggest the Eastern Whip-poor-Will has white markings on the tail while other online guides suggest the Common Nighthawk has white wing markings. This bird has both... My review of this bird leads me to a Common Nighthawk since it does not have obvious horizontal bars on the tail that each of the Whip-poor-will illustrations showed. Thanks in advance for your help. Also, would anyone know how common this bird is in the area?
Have a great day!
