I'm thinking one of the Marbled Minor aggregate, it's the second one I've had this week like this.

Edit: Just found another.

It's been a chilly old week or so here in Notts, I wonder if temperature may be a driver behind this run of melanistic individuals?

They look fairly typical to me so I wouldn't think there's any melanistic stuff going on. If it were, it would normally be at the time of pupation, not now.

I'm surprised by this Martin, nothing like what I usually get here, so much so in fact that our recorder won't even assign them as MM agg.
