A friend sent me the following:

"Spotted a bird new to me yesterday in Wellfleet, MA while hiking on Great Island near Jeremy Point. It was about 5 -6 inches, black back, head, bill but white chest, robin-egg's blue stomach, sides and in the tail when it fanned out. Pretty song. I haven't found it in my books yet."

Ideas?

More info....
It was perching. I'm likening it to an Eastern Phoebe w/ a tail more like an Eastern Flycatcher.

Other than the blue being there it sounded like an Eastern Kingbird to me first time I read it. But like I said the blue wouldn't work.

Yeah, the blue part is killing me. I'm almost ready to think escapee!

That could be a possibility, tell your friend to get a picture if they happen to see it again if at all possible

Eastern Kingbird that's been for a bath in somebody's dying vat....

(Or colour-marked by somebody).
