7x42 notchy focus observation

While playing with the diopter settings on my binoculars I noticed something I thought I would pass along. At one setting it was very hard to focus at another it was easy. After playing with it for a while I discovered I could change how hard it is to focus by how I adjusted the diopter. I would note where I wanted the diopter set. Then I would set it by moving it past my setting then back to my setting turning it in the same direction as the focusing had last been turned. When I did this the focusing became as smoth as my Zeiss 10x40 classics. I'm not sure why this is so but I suspect there is some type of internal load that needs to be evenly distributed. chip
