Allbinos has just posted a new review of the 8x56 Conquest HD.

These have been out for a while, and these score well.

Note how they compare to the FL 8x56.

Conquest HD is generally really competitive to FL, except the CA correction.
From rice point of view, egun.de has offers for them at 999 euro.
But from birding point of view, maybe owl-watchers can find 8x56 useful.

Dear all,
In post 3 a test report from 8x56 binoculars in DJZ is mentioned. As yet we have only investigated the Swarovski SLC 8x56 from the list of binoculars DJZ has tested and we find other transmission values as compared to the DJZ report:
DJZ night transmission value: 89,6%, our value 94%
DJZ daylight transmission values 92%, our value 95,3 %
The Swarovski SLC 8x56 performs just as well in this respect as the Steiner Nighthunter Xtreme 8x56, which had the highest in transmission values in the DJZ report.

swaro says 93% in their own spec for the 8x56 SLC so I think 94%/95.3% might be a bit optimistic,
not sure about the wavelength used, are they standardized? swaro does not tell,
allbinos seem to have changed their measurements, the diagram was better I think,
now some kind of average* is used, 93.8% also seems very high for the Conquest HD 8x56,

* allbinos says: "Attention! In this test the transmission value has been measured only for two wavelengths: 532 nm (green) and 657 nm (red) with a margin of error never exceeding 1%. Four measurements have been taken for each optical path and the results have been averaged out.

These have really long ER @ 18mm. Do these require the replacement eyecups for non-eyeglass users?

Is this still considered the German hog hunting night glass specification?
