Pallid or Montagu's harrier (1 Viewer)

Dear all,

This harrier was seen yesterday over a pivot field south of Riyadh taking an unhealthy interest in a flock of yellow wagtail.

I don't know whether it is a pallid harrier or Montagu's harrier. My guide says that all dark fingers are a feature of Montagu's juveniles whereas it also says a broad pale collar with a brown neck is a feature of Pallid juveniles. It seems to have both.

Which is it, please?

Rob

PS sorry about the picture quality

Thanks to all.

Looks conclusively that it is a juvenile pallid harrier which is a shame in some ways because I still haven't got Montagu's on my Saudi list!
